Kenya & Tanzania Safari Combinations
Kenya and Tanzania safari is primarily big game destinations and home to many of Africa’s legendary parks. Safari tours can easily blend Kenya's Masai Mara and Amboseli reserves with Tanzania's Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. The wildebeest migration is the best reason for combining these two destinations. The migration starts in the southern Serengeti, moves through the central and western Serengeti, and into the Masai Mara. By combining Kenya and Tanzania, you’ll witness the spectacle of the mega-herds and enjoy Africa’s best crowd-free game viewing away from the main event.
It is absolutely worth exploring off-the-beaten track to take in the spectacular scenery and rare wildlife in parks like Kenya’s Samburu and Tanzania’s Tarangire.
Kenya and Tanzania safari itinerary

Welcome to Africa! Arrive this evening, check in to your hotel, and prepare for your safari adventure!
Day 2 Nairobi–Maasai Mara National Reserve
This morning we drive via Narok to Masai Mara, Kenya’s – and Africa’s – premier game reserve rich with animal life and traditional homeland of the native Maasai people. Known especially for the annual migration that sees some 1.3 million wildebeest, 200,000 zebra, and 500,000 Thomson’s gazelle (among others) migrate north from the Serengeti in Tanzania to Masai Mara. The “Mara,” as it’s known, sits in the Great Rift Valley and comprises 200 square miles of vast plains, acacia forests, grass-covered hills, and slow-flowing rivers. This afternoon we embark on the first game drive of our stay. Dinner tonight is at our tented camp, as are all meals throughout our stay.
Day 3-4 Maasai Mara
We spend today “on safari,” venturing out on early morning and late afternoon game drives during prime viewing hours to glimpse some of the lion, leopard, cheetah, zebra, giraffe, gazelle, wildebeest, elephant, buffalo, hippo, rhino, and other wildlife that call the Mara home.
